I was designing my first collection “Heart Into The Hussle.” My inspiration behind it was derived by the music artist Nipsey Hussle. The concept was based on the point in life I was at, where I was ready to give my heart to this brand and all of the work and “Hustle” that comes with it. The goal was to inspire and relate to others that were also ready to give their heart to their passions and dreams. After a couple weeks I finished drawing the design and had a meeting set with graphic designers.

Unexpectedly, on May 15th - a day before the date of the meeting - my family and I went through a tragic, life altering experience that would shatter the world that I once knew. On May 18th we all lost a vital piece of our everyday life.

For a long time I was too lost to do anything, but eventually I found myself gravitating towards Peaces. “Dedicated to You” was a collection honoring everything I lost that day and the most beautiful pieces he left behind to my family and I. Expressing my life through this brand and creating meaningful art to share with others felt like the only thing that positively helped relieve me from the pain. Eventually I finished the design and concept of “Dedicated To You.”

I started taking the next step, to make my visions into reality. As time went by I felt that this collection that I held especially close to my heart wasn’t going to be released in the way that it was meant to. I decided that I was going to release it when the time was right, which wasn’t now.

Everything led up to this Capsule: “LOVE”; part 1 of 3 to the full collection “Love Vs Lust”.

Peaces was a beacon of love for me when it was so easy to give in to the solutions that lust offered. On a simpler level it also means that there are still “PEACES” of love left inside this character. I believe this battle is a part of life that many people can relate to. Everybody has their own “Peaces” to help them stay rooted in love, even if they may not realize. In a way it is about personifying the battle of LOVE vs. LUST. Showing the effect of lust in a literal and physical sense through not only the clothing but also the way we present it to everybody.

Im starting this journey on LOVE.
